The PureSync Personal application was designed to be a file synchronizer and backup tool. PureSync Personal lets you compare, synchronize and backup file, easy to use, but still many features, such as conflict detection and resolving, multiple backups.

Unfortunate events happen all the time, especially when it comes to computers, as your important files can get infected by a virus or get accidentally deleted. Retrieving them can be a great problem, especially when you don't have them backed up. A solution to this situation can be RecoverMyFiles, a dedicated utility for finding and restoring deleted items.

This thorough application is meant to bring back deleted files (e.g. documents, images, video, archives, emails), even if they have been infected or permanently removed from your Recycle Bin.

RecoverMyFiles can also recover documents after a hard disk crash or partitioning error, from external local drives (e.g. camera card, USB), and restore formatted hard drives. You can choose to scan for all erased files, or you can enter a keyword to restrict the search and the processing time. 

On smaller  files, RecoverMyFiles works quite fast. But if you choose to perform a complete format recovery, it could take some while. Also, be careful not to open multiple instances, because the overlapping may result in errors.

The interface of the tool is both intuitive and well-organized, leaving plenty of room for previewing the files, or navigating around the files that have been found and analyze their MD5 hash. The search time is typically short, but if you don't have the patience to see the whole drive scanned, then you can just cancel the operation.

Another function provided by RecoverMyFiles is exporting the file list to a standalone file that you can read at a later time to see if your most valuable files can be retrieved. 

The unregistered version does not allow you to save the recovered files, so if you are satisfied with the files it detects, you can purchase a license for RecoverMyFiles and unlock its full functionality.

Automatically backup all AD based DFS namespaces

DFS Backup stands for Distributed File System Backup.


DFS, is one of MicroSoft's better ideas for consolidating all the file shares within an enterprise into a common file structure or namespace. DFS gives the Network Administrator the freedom to balance data shares across servers as the need arises without impacting the use population. It is well worth looking into this technology if you have not done so already.


DFS Namespace's can either be stand alone or Active Directory integrated, the later being the desired option within a large enterprise as it affords better namespace redundancy and control.


As with any system, backing it up on a regular basis is a must, DFS has a few command line tools for backing up a single DFS namespace, but how do you backup multiple DFS namespace's across an entire enterprise in only a few minutes? Our new DFS Backup tool fits this bill perfectly.


As soon as the tool starts, it will query Active Directory to find all the Domain based DFS namespace's and lists them. All of the namespace's can be selected, or just select the ones you wish to backup. One namespace, ISS-DFS, is visible in this example screen shot.


Clicking the Backup button will create a text file, ISS-DFS.TXT in the directory C:dfsbackup. This text file is fully compatible with the MicroSoft's command line tool DFSCMD.EXE in the event you wish to use it to restore links back into the namespace.


Restoring DFS links back to the namespace is just as easy as backing them up. Simply click on the Restore button and select the backup file to restore from.The Restore window will let you pick and choose which links, or all of them, to restore. Once your selection is made, click the Restore button on this window and you commands will be carried out.


All restore activities are logged to a status file for later examination if need be
